Get up to speed on the new charting environment.  NOAA has been "Sunsetting" Raster Navigation Charts over the last several years, and now these traditional charts are no longer updated, in favor of the more powerful ENC charts.  What most boaters haven't learned is that NOAA has not retired PAPER charts. They've actually made them better than ever. Captain Phyllis Woolwine will help boaters understand NOAA’s new standard - their system of Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs).  She will provide highly relevant practices for using them in both their chart plotter and paper forms, focusing on the most powerful applications of both for skilled piloting anywhere in the world. This class culminates with hands-on practical training in how to use the NOAA Custom Chart Tool online to create your own charts for printing, which are even more up-to-date than your chart plotter’s ENCs. Bring your tablet or laptop, as we'll be doing hands-on learning experiences.
