Racing Series

Winter Series -  This is a series of five buoy races in the Possession Sound area.  This series begins in January and concludes in early March.  Races are held on Sundays beginning at noon with a three hour time limit.  See the Notice of Race (NOR) posted at the Winter Series page.

Mid-Distance Series  – This is a series of five buoy races.  The series starts in the spring and extends through the fall.  Races are held on Saturdays beginning at 1000 hours.  Time limits for these races can be up to 8 hours.  See the Notice of Race (NOR) posted on the Mid-Distance Series page.

Spring Regatta -  This is a one day event consisting of three scheduled buoy races. 

Saratoga Sprint – This single race is part of the Mid-Distance series.  The featured course is to a buoy off Baby Island in Saragota Passage.  Time limit for this race is 8 hours.  After the race, an awards reception is held in the MSA clubhouse.

Summer Log Dodge Series – These are two series of Friday evening races beginning in early June and continuing through the end of August.  Racing begins at 1830 hours and features a river start and finish.  Each race has a theme.  A barbeque and awards ceremony is held in the MSA clubhouse at the conclusion of each race.  Race results are influenced by the crew’s participation to the weekly theme.

Fall Regatta  -  This is a one day event consisting of three scheduled buoy races.  

Fall Series -  This is a series of five buoy races in the Possession Sound area.  This series begins in September and concludes before Thanksgiving.  Races are held on Sundays beginning at noon with a three hour time limit.  See the Notice of Race (NOR) posted at the Autumn Series page.

Pursuit Series - A series of three races in and around Possession Sound where staggered starts or Take-your-Time format are used.  These races are in conjunction with three club cruises and include opportunities to race both directions, keeping the best finish as the event score.

Milltown Challenge Sailing Series - To encourage more time on your boat and sharpen your sailing and navigation skills, Milltown is presenting a new series of challenge sailing courses. There are four fixed length courses which can be sailed at the skipper’s discretion. This allows the skipper to sail when the wind, weather, tide, current, etc. is most favorable for a record attempt in their boat.
