Northwest Straits Commission envision revitalized Puget Sound kelp forests stretching from Olympia to Vancouver, B.C. providing economic, recreational, and ecological benefits to all living things that call these shores and waters home.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening! This month, we’re thrilled to welcome Jeff Whitty, who will dive into the Puget Sound Kelp Conservation and Recovery Plan — and we’re adding a Halloween twist to make it extra fun! 
About the Speaker & Talk
Jeff will share the inspiring vision of revitalizing Puget Sound kelp forests stretching from Olympia to Vancouver, B.C. These underwater forests are essential for salmon, rockfish, forage fish, marine birds, and even the iconic Southern Resident killer whales.
But kelp is disappearing in many areas of Puget Sound. Jeff will explain how the Kelp Plan provides a collaborative framework to understand these declines, drive recovery, and protect this vital ecosystem for future generations.  Halloween Theme!
