Please join us in welcoming Meredith Anderson, known throughout our industry as Madame Diesel!
This March, we’re kicking off Women’s Month with a celebration of the trailblazing women in maritime. Starting with the inspiring Meredith Anderson! Meredith is a USCG-Licensed 3rd Assistant Engineer and 100-Ton Captain who has built an incredible career as one of the Pacific Northwest's top marine diesel mechanics. She is an advanced diesel instructor at Seattle Maritime Academy and a regular columnist for 48° North magazine, with a true passion for empowering fellow sailors, especially women, to understand their boats and feel confident on the water.
Meredith's journey into the world of diesel engines wasn't without its challenges. She will share with us the story of how she earned the title, the obstacles she faced, and the determination that brought her to where she stands today. And if you're lucky, you might even walk away knowing a thing or two more about diesel engines!
Join us on March 11th, doors open at 6:00 PM, meeting begins at 7:00 PM. Do not forget to bring your favorite snacks or hors d'oeuvres to share with everyone. We hope to see you there!
