Cruise Recaps
2025

Kingston
HOSTs: Dale & Edith

MSA gathered for another wonderful cruise with our annual fall trip to Kingston Marina, held October 17–19, 2025 (and for a few of us, extended through the 20th). Even though the weekend brought its fair share of wind and rain, that didn’t stop 17 boats and three enthusiastic members who came by land from gathering for a weekend full of fun, laughter, and community.

Our outstanding hosts, Dale and Edith, went above and beyond to make the event special. From organizing games to keeping everyone connected and comfortable, their hospitality set the tone for the weekend.

In the spirit of the season, the weekend was packed with Oktoberfest-themed activities that brought out everyone’s playful side. We cheered through rounds of the pretzel toss, tested our hammering skills in hammerschlagen, raced through the beer stein relay race, and even got crafty with Bavarian hat-making. Adding to the laughter, some of our talented members took on balloon animal making, which led to both impressive creations and a few hilariously misshapen attempts, all in good fun!

As the day wound down, we gathered under cover for a fantastic potluck dinner, sharing warm dishes, stories, and plenty of laughter. The camaraderie was the perfect antidote to the stormy weather outside.

When Sunday rolled around, several crews decided to extend their stay by one more night, opting for a more comfortable and leisurely sail home after the winds had eased. It turned out to be a great excuse to extend the relaxing weekend.
Despite the wet and windy conditions, the Kingston Cruise proved once again that a little weather can’t dampen the MSA member’s spirit. It was a weekend filled with good food, hearty laughter, and the kind of memories that remind us why we love this community so much.

A heartfelt thank-you to Dale and Edith for hosting the unforgettable event and everyone who joined in and made this fall cruise such a success

Oak Harbor
HOSTs: Pepper, Jon, Zoe & Jax

What a rocking good time we had at Oak Harbor!
Our fantastic hosts Pepper, Jon, Zoe, and Jax absolutely outdid themselves. All 19 boats in attendance brought the energy, with Saturday’s Karaoke Night turning into a full-on music celebration! Guests showed up dressed as their favorite music artists or genres, adding flair and fun to an already electric evening of singing and dancing.
Sunday kept the momentum going with a hilarious round of Family Feud, where teams battled it out with laughs and lightning-fast answers.

From delicious breakfasts to bountiful potlucks, the food was top-notch because everything just tastes better on the water and among great friends. Top it all off with breathtaking salmon sunsets and beautiful live music, and this cruise will be hard to beat.

Poulsbo

HOST: Edwin, Margarita, & Melissa

Our annual club cruise last weekend to the friendly city of Poulsbo was another big success. Many thanks to Edwin, Margarita and Melissa for being our gracious hosts for the weekend. We had a total of 14 boats, 2 children, 2 dogs, 3 Toms, 2 James, 2 happy hours, one breakfast and one potluck dinner!

The weather was perfect for a relaxing motor to Poulsbo on Friday and a challenging sail home to Everett on Sunday. The "Rain Gutter Regatta" was fun for all and highlighted those of us who have good lungs. The goal was to blow their hand crafted sailboats down a gutter of water the length of a picnic table. Once again it's impressive how talented some of our members are! We also got to play a rousing game of BINGO with coveted MSA swag as prizes. We are grateful to Edwin, Margarita and Melissa for organizing our delicious meals, fun games, and especially for giving us lots of time to socialize with our old and new boating friends. Milltown is the best!

Langley

Host: Brad & Dawn SV Rising Sun

We just experienced an absolutely unforgettable four-day cruise to Langley! Thanks to our dedicated cruise host, Commadore Brad Lewis, we were swept away in fun, camaraderie, and excitement that truly filled our hearts. MSA flooded the Langley marina with an astonishing 24 boats of every shape and size, filling the docks and waters with energy and joy. The mighty 74-foot Gypsy Wind, carrying the Sea Scouts, stood proudly as our largest vessel, while the charming 24-foot pontoon Toona brought a delightful charm to the event. This cruise was a gathering where racers and cruisers come together marking the beginning of the warm weather season. We shared thrilling beer can boat races, heartfelt potlucks, a decadent Belgian waffle bar, mind-stimulating MSA Trivia, and so much more! The weekend was blessed with perfect sunshine for the best club in the world.
Now on to the upcoming cruise to Back Bay! This anchor out wagon wheel raft up event is so much fun I can't help but burst with excitement. Expect double the ducks this year and a bigger wicker duck to burn. We are swapping out the dessert contest for a deviled egg contest this year. If you have a food sensitivity, please reach out ahead of time so we can attempt to make it inclusive for all. Showing you duck attitude will earn bonus points towards awards. We will be needing early arrivals and 35'+ boats to volunteer to be starting anchor boats. An itinerary will be sent out soon with a list of fun events, arriving plans, and departure plans. Let's get out there and do this again!
Enjoy the beautiful drone photos from Mike Bellgardt with the Sea Scouts!

Kingston
HOSTs: Linda and Grant SV Mei Li

We had a perfect Kingston cruise with pirates! Thank you to our amazing hosts Linda and Grant for planning such a fun weekend in such perfect weather. We had 21 vessels attend and 3 people attended by ferry. There were fun crocheted beards, a scavenger hunt, and pirate themed relay races. We gathered in the event tent for a potluck dinner and wind down.

Port Ludlow

Host: Tom and Sandy SV Hula Girl

In a boat on the choppy blue sea,

The wind laughed and tossed us with glee.
With a splash and a sway,
We lost track of the day,
But we smiled at the wild, salty spree!

I would like to start with a massive thank you to Tom and Sandy Buus for an amazing St. Patrick's Day themed cruise to Port Ludlow. We had fun limericks, beautiful hike to waterfalls, shamrock shaking, fire pits, and great company. We had 14 boats push through the spicy water conditions and enjoy the festivities. While most of everyone decided to depart on Monday instead of the blustery Sunday, both Sea Scout boats showed what determination and skill can achieve.
